Abstract

|
|
A case of secondary polycythemia associated with primary hepatoma was presented, and clinicoetiological aspects were briefly reviewed. The diagnosis of hepatoma was established with the ´ndings of hard and irregular surface of a enlarged huge liver and intrahepatic space occupying le ion on liver scanning, bloody ascitic fluid, and confirmed by liver biopsy. On the 10th hospital day, the patient, was discharged because of his down-hill hospital course. The etiological factor of se ndary polycythemia in this case was considered to be due to erythropoiesis stimulating factor whi h was. produced in the carcinoma.
